'त्रिलोचन' में तीन लोचन जिसके (शिव) अर्थात् अन्य पद प्रधान है, इसलिए यह बहुव्रीहि समास है।

• In बहुव्रीहि समास, neither the first nor the second word is the main word; instead, the compound refers to a third person/thing. 'त्रिलोचन' = जिसके तीन नेत्र हों (शिव) — so it is बहुव्रीहि.
